第74回例会
今日のTMOEは初挑戦のKさん。例会のテーマを考えてきてくれました！今日の例会のテーマは『Embrace the Spontaneous』…日本語に訳すと、自発的に受け入れる…というような感じでしょうか。
積極的な活動を奨励する、トーストマスターズらしいテーマだと思います。
当初3名の準備スピーチを予定していましたが、なんと、事情により2名がキャンセルに！でも、ピンチの時こそ積極的に対応を考えるのが東京レインボーです。今回は、Haさんのレインボーモーメント、AlさんのLGBTQ5分間講座に引き続き、GさんとLさんの「LGBTQ講座 特別版」でリカバリー。Gさんはさまざまなセクシュアリティの、そしてLさんはその中でも特にトランスジェンダーについての説明を、それぞれわかりやすくしてくれました。
準備スピーチはTさん。自身の海外の体験を基にした、ユーモラスかつグッと来る素敵な内容でした。
今回の例会は、役割初挑戦のメンバーが多かった日でもありました。計時係のUさん、ゲストにもかかわらず快く集計係を引き受けてくれたIcさん、えーとカウンターのHiさん、テーブルトピックスマスターのA.S.さん、論評のCさん、そしてTMOEのKさん。みなさん、ちゃんと準備をして例会に臨んでいるのがわかり、とても『Embrace the Spontaneous』な会となりました。
次回の例会は12月21日（土）18時から、クリスマス例会としてにぎやかに行いたいと思います。もちろん、ゲストや見学の方も大歓迎です。サイトのお問い合わせのページからお気軽にご連絡ください。
東京レインボートーストマスターズクラブは、アジア初の『LGBTQとAlly（LGBTQの支援者）のためのクラブ』です。「安心/safe」「多様性/diversity」「スキルアップ/skill up」を3つの柱として、セクシュアリティや年齢、性別、国籍などがさまざまなメンバーが月に2回集まってスピーチを学んでいます。

特別例会～ピクニック例会at新宿御苑～
年に数回ある第5土曜日を“特別例会”として、お楽しみ企画に使っている東京レインボー。今回は初の試み、ピクニック例会！ということで、有志12名で新宿御苑に出かけました。
寒かったらどうしよう…という心配が嘘のように、雲一つなく晴れ渡った空の下、ぽかぽかの小春日和となったこの日。紅葉も、それぞれが持ち寄ったごはんも楽しめる、最高のピクニック日和を堪能しました。
しかーし！！そこで終わらないのがトーストマスターズクラブです！！今回はA.H.さんがテーブルトピックマスターとなって“外でテーブルトピックス”という時間もちゃんと（？）設けました。
テーブルトピックスというのは「即興スピーチ」の練習です。テーブルトピックスマスター（今回はA.H.さん）がお題を出し、回答者を指名します。指名された人は1分～2分30秒の間で短いスピーチをする…という、頭の体操にもなる、難しくも楽しいセッションです。
今回は5名の回答者のうち、見事、A.S.さんがベストテーブルトピックス賞を獲得！おめでとうございます！！
東京レインボーでは、毎月第1、第3土曜日の通常例会のほかに、不定期で特別例会も行っています。また、通常例会でも、ハロウィン例会やクリスマス例会のように季節を楽しめる例会を行うなどの工夫をしています。見学者も大歓迎なので、気になった方は「お問い合わせ」のページからお気軽にご連絡ください。
Special Meeting -Picnic at Shinjuku Gyoen Park-
As a special meeting, we went for a picnic at Shinjuku Gyoen park last Saturday. We usually meet 1st and 3rd Saturday, but when we have 5th Saturday, plan something fun and different from our usual meeting. This time, 12 members by total joined the special “picnic meeting”.
Against our concerns about the cold, it became a perfect sunny winter day. We enjoyed the best picnic ever under the clear blue sky and the colorful leaves, along with the potluck lunch.
But!! We are Toastmasters- we can’t just hang out without giving SPEECHES!
TM A.H thoroughly organized Table Topics session as Topics Master even under the blue sky.
“Table Topics”, by the way- stands for the session of giving 1 to 2.5 minute speeches that match the topics given by “Topics Master” on the spot.
TM A.S smashed it and won the best Table Topic speaker among 5participants! Congratulations!
We’ve also been spicing up meetings even on usual 1st and 3rd Saturday, such as Halloween meeting, Christmas meeting etc.

第73回 例会
今回の例会は、まず、11月4日（月）に開催されたToastmastersのDivision Bオリジナル企画「Best of the Best Speaker」スピーチコンテストの日本語部門で、我ら東京レインボーTMC（TRTMC）の代表であるGさんが見事第1位に輝いたとの、嬉しい報告から始まりました。
The meeting began with a jubilant report that, at the “Best of the Best Speaker” Speech Contest that took place on Monday 4 November, G, the representative of our Tokyo Rainbow Toastmasters Club (TRTMC), won first place in the Japanese Speech Session.
例会の司会は、TRTMCのアイドルMさん。フライト・アテンダント風の口調でみんなを笑いの渦に巻き込みながら、5分間LGBTQ講座では自ら講師となり、中国のイケメン男子10名をご紹介くださいました。
The MC today was M, TRTMC’s adorable idol. Dressed up as a flight attendant, M made all of us burst into laughter. At the 5-min LGBTQ lecture, Mirei introduced top 10 Chinese good-looking boys.
そして、今回の例会には、なんと7名ものゲストが参加してくださいました。うち、Maさん、Meさんの2名は、入会式が行われ入会することになりました。また、3回連続参加頂いていたFさんも入会の意図を表明。その他、初めてのゲストとして、シンガポール人のDさん、台湾人のIさんが参加。TRTMC、ますます盛り上がっています。
This time, we welcomed seven guests. We conducted an induction ceremony for two guests – Ma and Me. After participating for three times in a row, F expressed a willingness to join the club! As first time guests, we had D from Singapore and I from Taiwan. TRTMC is thriving.
準備スピーチのセッションでは、Gさんが優勝スピーチを披露してくれたほか、Kさん、Tさんが、自らの人生の教訓について渾身のスピーチを行ってくださいました。
During the prepared speech session, G exhibited the contest-winning speech; K and T delivered heartfelt speeches encompassing their life-lessons from their experiences.
今年の11月は、土曜日が第5週まであるということで、11月30日（土）には、有志で集まり、新宿御苑でピクニックを行う予定です。楽しみですね♪
This November has a 5th Saturday. TRTMC is planning to organize a picnic in Shinjuku-Gyoen park on Sat 30 November. We look forward to it!

第72回 例会
11月に足を踏み入れた最初の例会、それにも関わらずとっても「暖かい」夜になりました。ゲストが3人いらっしゃいましたが、そのうちのお1人は3回目の見学という事で、参加意思を表明!
TMOEのYKさんが電車事故により到着が遅れてしまったのですが、会長のTSさんが完璧に臨機応変に対応し、まずはGIさんが作成した素敵な台湾プライドパレードのレポートをみんなで観ました。その後YKさんが到着しましたが、安定感と抜群のユーモアセンスで例会を盛り上げてくれました。
レポートの後は、私LUNAがオンラインデートの安全についてのレクチャーを行いました。現代人特にLGBTQの人々にとって、オンラインデートはもはや大きな生活の一部となっているため、どうすれば安全性を保てるのか、皆で学びました。
準備スピーチのセッションは素敵なスピーチが勢ぞろいでした。1人目はコンテスト出場を控えたGIさんで、笑いも感動も一杯のスピーチ。2人目はCAさん、格好いいスライドのセンスに皆が感心していました。3人目、ベテランのTSさんは磨き抜かれた技術と力強いメッセージをこめたスピーチでベストスピーカー賞を受賞しました。
論評の時間も盛り上がりました。DLさんは初めての論評でしたが、自信を持って非常に鋭い論評をしていました。誰も初めてとは信じられない程でした。DLさんはベスト論評賞を受賞しました。
即興スピーチの時間には、YMさんが映画やドラマについて、とても深く考えさせるような質問を沢山用意してくれました。
次回例会は11/16です！楽しみですね。
It was a heartwarming night despite of stepping into November. We welcomed 3 guests and 1 of them declared she’s willing to join the club since it was her third visit!
We started off today’s meeting with a beautifully made Taiwan Pride Parade report by Gi instead of usual helpers' introductions, since a train accident prevented TMOE, YK from arriving on time. Our president, TS handled the situation perfectly! YK arrived after the report and gave MC with his great sense of humor and stability.
Following the report was a lecture by me, Luna. I talked about safety tips for online dating since online dating has become a huge part of the modern dating life, especially for LGBTQ people. We learned how to keep it safer together.
The prepared speech session was stellar. The three prepared speeches. The first speaker was GI who is going to give a speech at a contest. The speech was full of laughter and emotions. The second speaker was CA, who talked about technology in Japanese and amazed us by the fabulous visualization. The last speaker was a veteran speaker, TS. He won Best Speaker Award by his polished technique of speaking and his strong message.
The speeches were followed by the great evaluations. DL gave an evaluation for TS and nobody could believe it was his first time! He made so many wonderful points with confidence. That lead him to win Best Evaluator Award.
As for Table Topic speeches (improvised speeches), the topic master YM provided us a food for thought by asking vivid questions about films and TV series.
Next meeting will be held on November 16th. We all look forward to seeing it soon!

特別企画 ～Taiwan LGBT Prideに行ってきました～
Special Event – Expedition to Taiwan LGBT Pride
アジア最大規模の参加人数を誇る台湾LGBTプライド（「台灣同志遊行」）に、東京レ インボーから有志11人が参加してきました！
Eleven members of Tokyo Rainbow TMC marched at Taiwan LGBT Pride, the biggest event of its kind in Asia!
台湾で同性婚が実現して初めてのパレードということで、きっと盛り上がるんだろうな…という期待の高さをそのままに、蓋を開けると、なんと！20万人を超える参加者が5.5kmの道のりを埋め尽くす、何とも圧巻の虹色絵巻でした。
We had high expectations for this year’s parade, as it was the first event following the legalization of same sex marriage in Taiwan. In fact, as many as 200,000 people filled up the entire route of 5.5km – such an overwhelming view of the rainbow!
台北の桃園空港に到着すると、レインボーの看板がお出迎え。さらには「西門」という、日本で言うなら新宿2丁目のようなエリアでは駅を降りてすぐの道路がレインボーカラーにペイントされていることにも感動です。
Upon arriving at Taipei Taoyuan airport, a rainbow sign welcomed us. In Ximen – an area equivalent to Tokyo’s Shinjuku Nichome, the road in front of the metro station exit was painted with a rainbow crosswalk.
それだけでなく、いたるところにレインボーフラッグが掲げてあったり、お店のウィンドウもレインボーカラーになっていたりと、街をあげてのお祭りムードを感じました。
Moreover, the whole city was filled with festive atmosphere. Rainbow flags hung here and there, and shop windows were decorated in rainbow colours.
さあ、いよいよパレードの出発地点へ移動です。きっとすごい人なんだろうな…と少し早めに台北101のすぐそばに広がる「市政府廣場」に行ってみると…すでにすごい数の人、人、人！！広～い会場が朝の通勤ラッシュ並みの混雑状態。人ごみをかき分けないと前に歩けません。
On the day of parade, we first gathered at the starting point, i.e. Taipei City Hall near Taipei 101. Although we had tried to get together earlier, there were a tremendous number of people: left, right and center. The whole venue was a bit like a crowded train during morning rush hour. It was near impossible to even move without pushing others.
それでも何とか東京レインボーのメンバーもパレードの隊列に参加。私たちは今年もフロートを出していた「東京レインボープライド」のみなさんと、お揃いのTシャツを着て歩きました。
Finally, a group of Tokyo Rainbow TMC members managed to line up in the parade. We all sported the “Tokyo Rainbow Parade” T-shirt.
パレードのコースは台北の目抜き通りである忠孝東路をまっすぐ歩き、ゴールとなる總統府前までの約5.5km。その道のりを20万人が賑やかに歩きます。20万人…っていっても、多すぎてちょっとピンときませんよね。ちょっと調べてみたら、台東区の人口とだいたい同じくらいでした！！ 前にも人、後ろにも人、人が多すぎて先頭も最後も全く見えない、圧巻のパレードでした。
The parade course this year ran from Taipei City Hall to the Presidential Office Building. We walked straight for approximately 5.5km on Zhongxiao East Road, the high street in Taipei. 200,000 people, the number of marchers, is almost the same as the entire population of Taito ward in Tokyo. It may be hard to imagine, but it was like people galore – ahead, behind, everywhere. There were so many people that we couldn’t see the van or the end of the parade. It was such an overwhelming event.
そして、出発からおよそ3時間、いつの間にかあたりがとっぷりと暮れた頃、ようやくゴールの總統府前に到着！！足は棒のようになったけど、みんないい笑顔ではい、チーズ♪
Three hours after we had begun, we reached the goal at the Presidential Office Building in the dark, after sunset. Though we were shattered, we did our best to smile for the group photo – say cheese!
今年の台湾LGBTプライドのテーマは「同志好厝邊 TOGETHER, MAKE TAIWAN BETTER」。「同志」はLGBT、「好厝邊」は良いお隣さんという意味です。LGBTQの人も、ストレートの人も、互いに“良いお隣さん”として共に暮らしていける社会の実現に向けて、日本も頑張るぞ！！と心に誓ったのでした。
The theme for the Taiwan LGBT Pride this year was “TOGETHER, MAKE TAIWAN BETTER”. In Chinese, it was written as “LGBT Good Neighbour”. We pledged that, in order to create a society where LGBTQ and straight people can happily live together as “good neighbours”, we should also work harder in Japan.

第70回 例会
10月に入ったにも関わらず最高気温が30℃を超える暑さとなったこの日、第70回例会が開催されました。今回は体調不良による欠席者が多く参加人数が少なめでしたが、そのような中でも２名のゲストYさん、Mさんに来ていただきました。お二人とも初参加でした。
準備スピーチは２名。先月入会式を行ったAvさんは、緊張しながらも出来る限り原稿を見ないでスピーチしようとされている姿が印象的なアイスブレーカーでした。もう１名のAeさんは、最近始めた趣味について、スピーチ目的である「ボディランゲージ」を使ったわかりやすい内容で発表されていました。
テーブルトピックでは、Gさんの趣向を凝らしたユニークな質問にみなさん頭を悩ませながらも、素敵な即興スピーチをしていただきました。特にゲストのお二方の内容が素晴らしかったです。
LGBTQ+講義は、Aiさんによる渾身の充実した内容でした。西洋漫画におけるマイノリティの描かれ方の変遷がよくわかりました。
次回はハロウィンが近づく17日、一部の方は仮装を企画している（？）そうです。楽しみですね。
Despite being already in October, the day of the 70th meeting of the Tokyo Rainbow TMC hit a maximum temperature of over 30 degrees. Though there were fewer regular participants than usual; we are afraid that some were not be able to come due to having colds, we welcomed 2 guests (Y and M) who were both first timers to our club.
We started off today’s meeting with an LGBTQ+ lecture by Ai, which was very informative for our club and we were able to learn a lot in terms of the history of how minorities have been represented in Western cartoons in past and present.
Following this were the two prepared speeches. The first speaker was Av who did his Icebreaker for his first speech. It was so impressive that he was trying to do it without reading a script as much as possible, even though he was a little nervous. The second speaker was Ae, who talked about his new hobby using effective body language in alignment with his Pathways objective for this speech.
As for Table Topic speeches (improvised speeches), the topic master G provided a very innovative and elaborate question format. While each question was quite challenging, we were treated to some fantastic speeches from the speakers. In particular, both of our 2 guests gave really amazing speeches!
Next meeting will be held on a day close to Halloween, so some members seem to be preparing special costumes for celebrating.... We all look forward to seeing it soon!

第69回 例会
秋の気配を感じる中、第69回例会が開催されました。
今回は3名のゲストをお迎えしました。二回目の参加となるMさん、そして交換留学で米国から5時間前に日本に来たばかりのDさんと、Dさんのお知り合いのIさんの3名でした。
The 69th meeting of the Tokyo Rainbow TMC took place amidst signs of an impending autumn. We had three guests this time – M (second visit), D (an exchange student from the US who had just landed in Japan five hours before the meeting) and I (D’s chaperone).
今回の例会は、いつもとは異なり、クラブの代表を決めるスピーチコンテストが開催されました。具体的には、Tokyo Rainbow TMCが所属するToastmasters日本支部Division B主催のスピーチコンテスト「Best of the Best Speaker決定戦」に、我々のクラブを代表して出場する2名を決めるコンテストを行いました。
This meeting was special in that we hosted the club speech contest. We selected two representatives of our club for the “Best of the best Speaker Contest” organized by Division B of Toastmasters International District 76.
日本語部門は、Gさん、Taさん、Teさんの3名が、英語部門は、Yさん、Aiさん、Aeさんの3名が、それぞれスピーチを行い、投票の結果、Tokyo Rainbow TMCを代表してGさんとAiさんの2名が、Best of the Best Speaker決定戦に出場することになりました！
In the Japanese contest, we had three contestants, namely G, Ta and Te. Meanwhile, in the English contest, we had three speakers, Y, Ai and Ae. With all the votes tallied, G and Ai were selected to represent Tokyo Rainbow TMC for the Best of the Best Speaker Contest!
また、例会ではコンテストに加え、Lさんが、inclusivityをテーマとしたLGBTQ+講義を行ってくれました。「性的指向や性自認には様々な形があるが、誰もが息苦しくなく過ごせるスペースが少しずつでもできると良い。」という力強いメッセージに、心打たれました。
In addition to the contest, L conducted a LGBTQ+ lecture featuring “inclusivity”. We were touched by the strong message in the lecture – “SOGI (sexual orientation and gender identity) varies greatly. We wish that all of us could have even little space for everyone”.

第68回 例会
台風が近づいて蒸し暑い中、元気に第68回例会が開催されました。
ゲストは初参加のMさん。人前で話すことが苦手…とおっしゃっていましたが、そんな人のためにトーストマスターズがあります！！スピーチをすることで苦手意識も少しずつ薄れていくはずですよ♪今日の司会は初挑戦のCさん。緊張しながらも堂々とした話しっぷりはさすがでした。
準備スピーチは3名。自身のクルーズの体験を素敵なスライドをたくさん使って話してくれたKさん、LGBTQの新旧アイコン、ジュディ・ガーランドとエルトン・ジョンの話をしてくれたYuさん、往年の日本映画の中にもレズビアンの関係を匂わせるようなシーンが…？？という日本版“セルロイド・クローゼット”の視点が俊逸だったYaさん、みなさんお疲れさまでした！！
テーブルトピックスピーチ（即興スピーチ）はTさんからの「スティーブ・ジョブスの名言を使ったお題」でした。
本日はAさんの入会式が行われました。Aさん、おめでとうございます！
最近、入会希望者が多くて活気づいている東京レインボーTMC。次回はDivision B特別企画「ベストオブザベストスピーカー決定戦」の1次審査です。みなさんの渾身のスピーチ、楽しみですね♪
Under a hot and humid weather with a typhoon approaching, we excitedly organized our 68th meeting. One guest, M, joined us for the first time, and claimed to be not good at public speaking. Our Toastmaster club exists just for those people! By delivering speeches alongside our supportive club, we hope that this fear of public speaking will vanish. The MC (Toastmaster Of the Evening) tonight was C -their first time doing so. While appearing nervous, C did it in a dignified manner. Excellent!
We had three prepared speakers today. The first speaker was K, who shared an experience of around-the-world boat cruise with using many visuals. The second speaker was Yu, who talked about new and old LGBTQ icons Judy Garland and Elton John (recently appearing in the recent movie,
Rocketman). The third speaker was Ya, who focused on lesbian relationships in classic Japanese movies to make a Japanese “Celluloid Closet,” referencing a documentary film that listed up many under appreciated films. They were all marvelous. Thank you very much. For today’s table topic speeches (improvised speeches), the topic master T featured “Quotes of Steve Jobs.”
We also had an induction ceremony for a new member A. Congratulations and welcome A! These days, we have many new prospective members. At the next meeting, we will have an in-house club speech contest as a first step of “Best of the Best Speech Title Match” an TMC Division B special event. We all look forward to everyone’s wonderful speeches.

お楽しみ例会
「カラフルカフェon the beach」に行こう！！
8月の最終土曜日は有志でカラフルカフェに行きました！
カラフルカフェは葉山にあるLGBTQフレンドリーな海の家。毎年7月8月の週末限定でOPENしています。
前日までのどんより天気とはうって変わって、当日はいいお天気！！今回は12人のメンバーが参加してくれました。逗子駅で待ち合わせたら、目指す一色海岸まではバスで移動…なのですが、さすが観光地、さすが週末。バスも道路も混んでる～！！40分ほど揺られて、一色海岸に到着しました。
目指す「カラフルカフェ」では、お揃いのレインボーカラーのTシャツ（Gapのデザイン！！）を着たスタッフが迎えてくれました。カウンターにさりげなくレインボーフラッグが飾ってあるのもイイですね。ビーチもそんなに混んでいなくて、ゆったりくつろげる大人のための場所、という感じ。一色海岸、おススメです。
東京レインボートーストマスターズクラブ（TMC）のメンバーは…というと、フィンやゴーグル持参でしっかり泳ぐメンバーあり、波打ち際で遊ぶメンバーあり、水には入らずのんびり過ごすメンバーあり、思い思いに夏の最後の一日を楽しんでいました。
東京レインボーTMCの例会は毎月第1、第3土曜日ですが、第5土曜日まである月はその日を「お楽しみ例会」や「お料理例会」にあてています。今年度はあと11月と2月の2回。どんな企画が実現するのか、楽しみにお待ちください♪
On the last Saturday of August, we organized an excursion to Colorful Cafe. Colorful Cafe is a LGBTQ-friendly beach house in Hayama. They are open on weekends during July and August every year.
With perfect weather (unlike the previous day), 12 members got together at Zushi station. The bus to Isshiki beach took as long as 40 minutes due to congestion.
At Colorful Cafe, staff welcomed us in rainbow-colored T-shirts (designed by Gap)! We also found a rainbow flag at their counter. The beach itself was not too crowded. It is highly recommended as a relaxing place for adults!
Some of us - TRTMC members - swam with goggles and fins, some of us played in the waves, some of us stayed onshore and relaxed. We all enjoyed one of the last days of summer together.
TRTMC meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. When there is a 5th Saturday in a month, we organize a fun event or cooking meeting. For the remainder of this Toastmaster year (Jul 2019 - Jun 2020), we will have a 5th Saturday in November and February. Please look out for our fun, upcoming events!

第67回 例会
夏真っ盛りの暑い日の夕方に、第67回例会が開催されました。今夜の言葉は「臭い物に蓋」。「LGBTQは決して臭い物じゃない！主張すべきことは主張して、もっと良い世の中にしていこう。」という気持ちが込められた提案でした。また、5分間講座では、現在作成中のクラブのウェブサイトの紹介が行われました。
準備スピーチは3人、うち2人が入会後初となるアイスブレーク・スピーチでした。3人とも、これまでの人生をどのように生きてきたかの「生き様」が見える渾身のスピーチでした。また、即興スピーチでは、レインボーの6色にかけた、赤（命）、オレンジ（癒し）、黄（太陽）、緑（自然）、青（調和）、紫（精神）についての、即興話の特訓がなされました。
なお、最後のビジネスセッションでは、クラブの「安心」「多様性」という特徴をより強化させるためのフロアルールの改訂と、ウェブサイトの公開が、賛成多数で承認されました。
On Saturday 17 August 2019, our 67th meeting took place in the midst of a scorching hot summer night. “Sweep under the carpet” was chosen as the Word of the Evening. “LGBTQ issues are not something to sweep under the carpet. Let’s work together to make the world a better place.”, explained the proponent. For the five-minute lecture, the Vice President (PR) introduced a working draft of the club’s new website.
Three members delivered prepared speeches, of which two were Icebreaker speeches. All the speakers talked about their life experiences, such as their passions, their romances or their failures. During the table topic speech session, speakers improvised short speeches related to the meaning of six rainbow colours (namely red-life, orange-healing, yellow-sunlight, green-nature, blue-harmony, violet-spirit).
At the end of session, two proposals were approved. One was to revise the club’s floor rules to enhance the elements of “safety” and “diversity”. The other was to publish the new website.
